Yuhan Corporation announced that it will receive a $30 million milestone payment from Johnson & Johnson following the European commercial launch of lazertinib (Korean brand name: Leclaza) for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The milestone was triggered by the European market entry of the combination therapy of lazertinib and amivantamab.
Including this latest payment, Yuhan has secured a cumulative total of $300 million in milestone payments related to lazertinib, including upfront payments, representing approximately one-third of the total potential milestone payments under the global licensing agreement signed in 2018. Since entering into the agreement, the company has continued to achieve key development and commercialization milestones through combination development, global clinical trials, and commercial launches in the United States, Japan, and China.
Lazertinib is continuing to expand its global presence across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. In addition, the therapy was recently listed as a Category 1 Preferred Regimen in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines for first-line treatment of EGFR-mutated NSCLC, further strengthening its position as a global standard-of-care treatment option.
